Tutors will work one-on-one and in small groups with students looking for employment. They may develop community relationships to obtain regular job postings or information about select positions. The tutor may create lessons for groups to cover such topics as interview attire, interview questions, and other topics.
Requirements: Placements must be 18 years or older, have some college experience, and pass a state criminal history check. Necessary skills: a sincere desire to be involved with young people, flexibility and openness, ability to model appropriate behavior for youth including consistency, dependability and integrity. Skills received: a working knowledge of the social issues impacting the lives of at-risk youth, enhancement of leadership skills, experience in bridging gaps between diverse groups, team work and project management skills, experience with directly impacting the lives of young people, information about community needs, teaching and classroom Management experience.
Training: Trainings will be held at LifeWorks South Site at 3700 South 1st. Training dates and times are flexible. Trainers will include LifeWorks GED Instructors.
